Cellulaze is a minimally-invasive one-time surgical procedure for the treatment of cellulite. Brand new to Australia, Cellulaze has been available in the U.S. for some time and is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Cellulaze is ideal for those who maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle, but suffer from areas of cellulite.

What is Cellulaze?

Cellulaze can drastically reduce the appearance of cellulite through its innovative SideLight Laser technique. Dr Scott Ingram was chosen to pioneer the procedure in Australia after undergoing extensive training in the United States.

Cellulite has been notoriously difficult to treat in the past; this new procedure gets to the core of cellulite and produces exceptional results.

How does it work?

The Cellulaze treatment is performed by using a very small cannula (or tube about the size of the tip of a pen) inserted under the skin. A unique SideLight laser fiber inside the tube delivers energy directly under the skin. The precise laser energy releases the fibrous bands that pull down on your skin, thereby minimising the orange peel look associated with cellulite.

Because Cellulaze is a minimally-invasive procedure, the incision sites are very small and there is usually very minimal post operative discomfort and bruising. Most patients are able to return to their normal activities in a day or two.

Liposuction is the removal of unwanted fat from specific areas of the body – particularly stubborn areas that do not respond to traditional weight loss methods.

A popular cosmetic procedure, both men and women opt for liposuction for a number of different reasons. It may be to shift pockets of fat that are not responding to diet or exercise; it may be to re-sculpt a body which is perceived as being out of proportion (such as pear-shaped women, who store their fat at their hips); or it may be to achieve a desired shape or definition.

Liposuction can be carried out on most areas of the body, including the abdomen, hips, inner and outer thighs, buttocks and knees. However, it is not designed as a weight loss treatment or a solution to obesity. You should also be aware that you will need to maintain your new body shape by eating healthily and exercising regularly.

How does it work?

There are several liposuction techniques available. These include:

  • SAL (Suction Assisted Liposuction) – in which fat is removed from the body by aspiration using vacuum suction
  • UAL (Ultrasonic Assisted Liposuction) – uses ultrasonic energy to liquefy the fat cells before SAL is used to remove the liquefied fat and to smooth the edges of the treated areas

It is important to understand the procedure in full and also the potential risks involved in undergoing a procedure such as liposuction. You can read more here.
